Local context
Cardiff is the capital and largest city of Wales, about 145 miles west of Heathrow. It is an event-driven city: the Principality Stadium sits in the centre and hosts rugby internationals and major concerts, drawing tens of thousands of visitors on match and show days. The city is also home to Cardiff University, the redeveloped Cardiff Bay waterfront with the Wales Millennium Centre and the Senedd, and the St David's shopping centre.
Common Cardiff drop-offs include Cardiff Central station, the University Hospital of Wales in Heath, Cardiff City Stadium, city-centre hotels, and any residential or business address you give us.
Traffic patterns we drive through
The actual road, not the schedule.
The run is M25 clockwise to J15, then the M4 west the whole way, about 145 miles. We cross the Severn on the Prince of Wales Bridge (M4 J21 to J23), which has been toll-free since December 2018, so there is nothing to pay and no booth queue. The usual constraint is the Newport stretch, M4 J24 to J29, which narrows and slows during roadworks and rush hour. Weekday peaks on the M25 and M4 (roughly 06:30 to 09:00 and 15:30 to 18:30) add 30 to 45 minutes, and Cardiff match and concert days at the Principality Stadium close central roads, so for a stadium drop we approach earlier and use the A4232 rather than Westgate Street.

Common questions
Heathrow to Cardiff — FAQ.
How long does it take from Heathrow to Cardiff?
+
How long does it take from Heathrow to Cardiff?
+About 2 hours 30 minutes off-peak from any terminal, west on the M25 and M4 over the Prince of Wales Bridge (toll-free since December 2018), around 145 miles. On a Friday afternoon or weekday rush hour expect up to 3 hours 15 minutes because of M25 and M4 traffic, and on a Cardiff rugby international or concert day at the Principality Stadium we allow extra time for central road closures.
How much does a Heathrow to Cardiff taxi cost?
+
How much does a Heathrow to Cardiff taxi cost?
+From £245 for an estate car (up to 4 people, 2 large suitcases) off-peak. That's the final price — Heathrow drop-off charge, motorway tolls and ULEZ are all included. Peak periods (Friday late afternoon, Sunday evening, public holidays) add 15%. No meter, no traffic surcharge, no card fees.
Do you cover all four Heathrow terminals?
+
Do you cover all four Heathrow terminals?
+Yes — T2, T3, T4 and T5. The pickup procedure is the same at each: call or text us once you've cleared customs, we drive round to the short-stay car park and collect you. No name-board meet & greet inside the terminal.
What happens if my flight is delayed?
+
What happens if my flight is delayed?
+We track your flight number, so we know when you've actually landed and adjust the pickup time accordingly. You're never charged extra for an airline delay. Free wait time is 60 minutes from your scheduled pickup.
Can you drop at the Principality Stadium or a Cardiff event?
+
Can you drop at the Principality Stadium or a Cardiff event?
+Yes. Cardiff is an event-driven city and we run this route regularly for rugby internationals and concerts at the Principality Stadium, football at Cardiff City Stadium, and shows at the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff Bay. On match and concert days the roads around Westgate Street and the city centre close, so we drop as close as the stewarding allows and approach via the A4232 Western Avenue. Because the fare is fixed, event-day traffic never changes the price. We also cover the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff University and Cardiff Central station at the same fixed fare.
Is a taxi worth it versus the train or coach from Heathrow?
+
Is a taxi worth it versus the train or coach from Heathrow?
+There is no direct train or coach from Heathrow to Cardiff. The train route means getting into London Paddington first (Elizabeth line or Heathrow Express) and then a Great Western Railway service to Cardiff Central, roughly £45 to £80 and about 3 hours door-to-door with two luggage changes. National Express coaches run from Heathrow to Cardiff but involve a change and take four hours or more. A fixed-price door-to-door taxi makes more sense when you are travelling as a group, have cruise or event luggage, land late at night, or want to avoid dragging cases between an airport train and Paddington. Our estate car takes up to four passengers with two large suitcases plus cabin bags at one fixed fare, with no changes.
