- 2 M25 junction 16 is the M40. The car follows the M40 to junction 8.

Driving into Oxford: what a car can and cannot do

High Street bus gate
A bus gate closes High Street to through traffic during the day. Cars for Carfax or the Westgate area go round by the ring road and Abingdon Road, which is why the centre is further by road than Headington.

Zero Emission Zone pilot
A pilot Zero Emission Zone has covered a small group of streets around Cornmarket Street and Queen Street since 28 February 2022. It runs from 7am to 7pm. Petrol, diesel and hybrid vehicles pay a daily charge to drive in it.

Temporary congestion charge
Oxfordshire County Council brought in a temporary £5 daily charge for cars on 29 October 2025. It applies at six points: Hythe Bridge Street, St Cross Road, St Clements Street, Thames Street, Marston Ferry Road and Hollow Way. The council's website shows whether it is still in force.

There is no name board inside the terminal. Call or text once you have your bags, and the car comes round to Terminal Parking, or to the pick-up zone at Terminal 4. Free waiting time is 60 minutes from the actual landing time. After that it is £15 per additional hour, billed only if you ask us to stay.
