How pickup works

Call us when you've landed, we come round.

We don't wait inside the terminal with a name board. You give us your flight number, we monitor the inbound flight, and we wait nearby. Once you've cleared customs and have your luggage, send a text or call — we drive round to the short-stay car park and meet you there. Usually 5 minutes from your call.

Local context

Leicester is a city, unitary authority area, and the county town of Leicestershire in the East Midlands of England. It is the largest city in the East Midlands with a population of 388,348 in 2024. The greater Leicester urban area had a population of 559,017 in 2021, making it the 11th most populous in England, and the 13th most populous in the United Kingdom.

Common Leicester drop-offs include the King Power Stadium (Leicester City FC), Mattioli Woods Welford Road (Leicester Tigers rugby), the University of Leicester and De Montfort University, Leicester Royal Infirmary, the National Space Centre, Leicester railway station, and the Fosse Park and Highcross shopping centres, plus any city-centre hotel, residential address or business park you specify.

Traffic patterns we drive through

The actual road, not the schedule.

The standard run is the M25 anticlockwise to the M40, up to the M42 and M1, then off at M1 J21 into the city, about 107 miles. M1 J21 is the usual Leicester exit and it feeds the A5460 straight to the King Power Stadium and the city centre. Fosse Park sits right at J21, so that drop adds almost no time. For Welford Road and the University of Leicester we come in on the A563 ring road; for Glenfield Hospital and the north of the city we use J22. Weekday rush hours on the M25 and the southern M1 (roughly 06:30 to 09:00 and 15:30 to 18:30) add 30 to 45 minutes, and Friday evenings on the M25 can push the run to about 2 hours 30, so we leave Heathrow earlier than the raw drive time suggests.

Common questions

Heathrow to Leicester — FAQ.

How long does it take from Heathrow to Leicester?

+

About 1 hour 55 minutes off-peak from Terminal 5, via the M25, M40 and M1 north to J21, roughly 107 miles. On a Friday afternoon or a weekday rush hour expect up to 2 hours 30 minutes because of M25 and southern M1 traffic. We track your flight and leave earlier when the roads are busy.

How much does a Heathrow to Leicester taxi cost?

+

From £195 for an estate car (up to 4 people, 2 large suitcases) off-peak. That's the final price — Heathrow drop-off charge, motorway tolls and ULEZ are all included. Peak periods (Friday late afternoon, Sunday evening, public holidays) add 15%. No meter, no traffic surcharge, no card fees.

Do you cover all four Heathrow terminals?

+

Yes — T2, T3, T4 and T5. The pickup procedure is the same at each: call or text us once you've cleared customs, we drive round to the short-stay car park and collect you. No name-board meet & greet inside the terminal.

What happens if my flight is delayed?

+

We track your flight number, so we know when you've actually landed and adjust the pickup time accordingly. You're never charged extra for an airline delay. Free wait time is 60 minutes from your scheduled pickup.

Do you drop at the universities, King Power Stadium and other Leicester addresses?

+

Yes. We drop door-to-door at any Leicester address at the same fixed fare, including the University of Leicester and De Montfort University halls for term-start move-in, King Power Stadium (Leicester City FC) and Mattioli Woods Welford Road (Leicester Tigers) on match days, Leicester Royal Infirmary and Glenfield Hospital, the National Space Centre, and the Fosse Park and Highcross shopping centres. Just give us the venue or address when you book. For match days and the Belgrave Road Diwali period we build in extra time for road closures, and because the fare is fixed a busy event day never changes the price.

Is a taxi worth it versus the train or coach from Heathrow?

+

The cheapest options are public transport. The National Express coach runs from Heathrow Central Bus Station to Leicester for roughly £15 to £30 with a couple of stops, and the train means Heathrow Express or the Tube across London to St Pancras, then East Midlands Railway to Leicester in about 70 minutes, so £30 to £50 with two luggage changes. A fixed-price door-to-door taxi makes more sense when you are travelling as a group, land late at night after the last coach or train, have heavy cases, or are moving a student in. Our estate car takes up to four passengers with two large suitcases plus cabin bags; at £195 fixed that works out at around £49 each with no changes across London.
