Local context
Windsor is a historic town in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead in Berkshire, England. It is home to Windsor Castle, one of the official residences of the British monarch and the oldest and largest inhabited castle in the world. Eton College sits across the Thames, Windsor Great Park stretches south of the town, and Legoland Windsor Resort is about 2 miles to the southwest. Windsor is roughly 8 miles from Heathrow, which makes this one of the shortest airport transfers we run.
Local drop-offs in Windsor include Windsor Castle (Castle Hill), Legoland Windsor, the Windsor Royal Shopping arcade by the station, both Windsor & Eton Central and Windsor & Eton Riverside stations, town-centre hotels, and any residential or business address you give us.
Traffic patterns we drive through
The actual road, not the schedule.
Windsor is about 8 miles from Heathrow, so this is a short hop rather than a motorway run. The standard route is the M4 to Junction 6, then the A355 and A332 into the town centre for the castle and hotels, roughly 15 minutes off-peak. For Legoland Windsor we come off the M4 and follow the A332 south to the B3022 resort approach. Ascot Racecourse sits about 6 miles south, reached on the A332 and A329 rather than through Windsor town. The pinch points are the M4 J6 roundabout and the one-way system around Windsor Castle: on a Friday evening, a Legoland closing time, or a Royal Ascot race day the same trip can stretch to 25 minutes, so we build that in.

Common questions
Heathrow to Windsor — FAQ.
How long does it take from Heathrow to Windsor?
+
How long does it take from Heathrow to Windsor?
+About 15 minutes off-peak from Terminal 5, covering roughly 8 miles via the M4 Junction 6 and the A355 and A332, or the local A308 when the motorway is busy. On a Friday evening, a Legoland closing time or a Royal Ascot race day expect closer to 25 minutes. It is one of the shortest transfers we run from Heathrow.
How much does a Heathrow to Windsor taxi cost?
+
How much does a Heathrow to Windsor taxi cost?
+From £80 for an estate car (up to 4 people, 2 large suitcases) off-peak. That's the final price — Heathrow drop-off charge, motorway tolls and ULEZ are all included. Peak periods (Friday late afternoon, Sunday evening, public holidays) add 15%. No meter, no traffic surcharge, no card fees.
Do you cover all four Heathrow terminals?
+
Do you cover all four Heathrow terminals?
+Yes — T2, T3, T4 and T5. The pickup procedure is the same at each: call or text us once you've cleared customs, we drive round to the short-stay car park and collect you. No name-board meet & greet inside the terminal.
What happens if my flight is delayed?
+
What happens if my flight is delayed?
+We track your flight number, so we know when you've actually landed and adjust the pickup time accordingly. You're never charged extra for an airline delay. Free wait time is 60 minutes from your scheduled pickup.
Can you drop us at Windsor Castle, Legoland or our hotel?
+
Can you drop us at Windsor Castle, Legoland or our hotel?
+Yes. This is a door-to-door transfer, so we take you to the exact address, not a station or rank. Common drops are the Windsor Castle visitor entrance on Castle Hill, the Legoland Windsor Resort main entrance off the B3022, and town-centre hotels such as the Castle Hotel and Macdonald Windsor on the High Street. On a castle or Legoland day we go straight to the entrance so families with children and luggage do not have to walk from a car park or drag cases from the station. Tell us the attraction or hotel name when you book and the fixed fare stays the same.
Is a taxi worth it versus the train or bus from Heathrow?
+
Is a taxi worth it versus the train or bus from Heathrow?
+There is no direct train from Heathrow to Windsor. The rail route means the Elizabeth line or Heathrow Express to Slough, then a change onto the Great Western branch to Windsor & Eton Central, so around an hour door-to-door with two luggage transfers. The local 702 bus runs from the Heathrow Central Bus Station but is slower again and drops in the town centre only. A fixed-price taxi covers the 8 miles in about 15 minutes with no changes, which is why families with luggage, late-night arrivals and hotel or Legoland drops usually prefer it. Our estate car takes up to four passengers with two large suitcases plus cabin bags at £80 fixed, which is around £20 each and rarely more than the combined rail fares for a group.
